Does the Alcatel 3080G work on KPN?
Mostly, with a catch.
Works with caveatsCalls and texts can fall back to 2G. KPN switches 2G off for good on 1 December 2027. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on KPN. Its 4G bands aren't published, so we can't confirm 4G data.
Fine for now. The catch is how calls get through: if they ride on 2G or 3G, they stop when KPN switches that off.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and KPN's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
KPN (Netherlands)
- 3G: Switched off (31 March 2022)
- 2G: On until 1 December 2027 (KPN started moving customers who don't need it off 2G in March 2026)
Alcatel 3080G
- 2G: 2G dual-band (Three device page)
- 3G: Not published or not checked yet
- 4G bands: 4G (bands not published by Three)
- 4G Calling: yes – Three lists 4G Calling as supported.
The same applies to networks that run on KPN: Simyo. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
