It works, with caveats.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts work over 2G, which TIM keeps running with no switch-off date announced. Its 4G bands aren't published, so we can't confirm 4G data.

Fine for now. The catch is how calls get through: if they ride on 2G or 3G, they stop when TIM switches that off.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and TIM's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

TIM (Italy)

  • 3G: Switched off (completed 15 October 2022)
  • 2G: On; no switch-off date announced

Alcatel 3080G

  • 2G: 2G dual-band (Three device page)
  • 3G: Not published or not checked yet
  • 4G bands: 4G (bands not published by Three)
  • 4G Calling: yes – Three lists 4G Calling as supported.
