Does the emporia SIMPLICITY-LTE work on Three?

Last checked 23 Oct 20264 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Yes, it works.

Works

Calls and texts work over 2G, which Three keeps running with no switch-off date announced, and 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 20).

You should be able to put a Three SIM in the emporia SIMPLICITY-LTE and make calls, send texts and use data.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Three's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Three (Ireland)

  • 3G: On; no switch-off date announced
  • 2G: On; no Irish operator has announced a 2G switch-off

emporia SIMPLICITY-LTE

  • 2G: GSM 900 / 1800 (emporia manual)
  • 3G: 900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20
  • 4G Calling: unknown – emporia's manual lists the 4G bands but doesn't mention VoLTE, and we haven't found it on a network's VoLTE list.
