Does the HMD 105 4G work on 1&1?
It works, with caveats.
Works with caveatsCalls and texts can fall back to 2G. 1&1 has no 2G of its own and uses Vodafone's 2G through national roaming, which ends in September 2028. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on 1&1. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20).
It works today, but calls on the HMD 105 4G rely on a part of 1&1's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and 1&1's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
1&1 (Germany)
- 3G: No 3G network
- 2G: No 2G of its own: uses Vodafone's 2G via national roaming, so Vodafone's September 2028 date applies
HMD 105 4G
- 2G: GSM 900 / 1800
- 3G: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20
- 4G Calling: yes – Listed in HMD's VoLTE-verified product list (TA-1653). One GSMArena owner says VoLTE only worked on some operators.
