Does the HMD 105 4G work on Vodafone?

Last checked 23 Oct 20264 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Yes, it should.

Works

Calls and texts work over 2G, which Vodafone keeps running with no switch-off date announced, and 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 20).

You should be able to put a Vodafone SIM in the HMD 105 4G and make calls, send texts and use data.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Vodafone's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Vodafone (Ireland)

  • 3G: Switched off (October 2024)
  • 2G: On; no Irish operator has announced a 2G switch-off

HMD 105 4G

  • 2G: GSM 900 / 1800
  • 3G: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20
  • 4G Calling: yes – Listed in HMD's VoLTE-verified product list (TA-1653). One GSMArena owner says VoLTE only worked on some operators.

The same applies to networks that run on Vodafone: Clear Mobile, An Post Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
