Does the Light Phone III work on Movistar?
Yes.
WorksLight's own compatibility checker says the Light Phone III will work with Movistar in Spain (it lists Movistar, Vodafone, Orange and Yoigo; checked 23 Oct 2026). Light's spec sheet lists 4G and 5G only, so calls go over 4G Calling.
You should be able to put a Movistar SIM in the Light Phone III and make calls, send texts and use data.

Movistar (Spain)

- 2G: On; no firm switch-off date (Spanish operators expect to keep 2G until around 2030)
Light Phone III
- 2G: Not listed on Light's spec sheet
- 3G: Not published or not checked yet
- 4G bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 40, 41, 42, 48, 53, 66, 71 + 5G
- 4G Calling: unknown – Light says the Light III is one worldwide model, but we haven't found a UK or Portuguese network that confirms 4G Calling on it. EE owners on r/LightPhone report 4G service.
The same applies to networks that run on Movistar: Digi. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
