Dumbphones that work in Spain

We check 61 simple phones against 3 networks in Spain. 39 work on at least one network, and 14 more work with caveats. Every result links to its reason and sources.

The short version

Vodafone switched 3G off in 2024. Movistar and MasOrange are switching 3G off now (MasOrange by 31 December 2027). 2G stays for now: MasOrange plans to switch it off on 31 December 2030.
"Supports VoLTE" on a spec sheet isn't enough. Each network has to allow that phone.

2G and 3G switch-off dates

Network	3G	2G
Movistar	Being switched off: started early 2026, due to finish during 2027	On; no firm switch-off date (Spanish operators expect to keep 2G until around 2030)
Vodafone	Switched off in summer 2024	On; no firm switch-off date (Spanish operators expect to keep 2G until around 2030)
Orange / MasOrange	Being switched off: started March 2026 (Zamora, Roquetas de Mar), due to finish by 31 December 2027	On until 31 December 2030

From each network's own pages and the regulator. Checked 23 Oct 2026.
