Does the Mudita Pure work on Eir?

Last checked 23 Oct 20265 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Yes, it works.

Works

Calls and texts work over 2G, which Eir keeps running with no switch-off date announced, and its 4G bands match (shared bands: 1, 3, 20, 28). There's no mobile data on the phone itself (Mudita only allows USB tethering to a computer).

Nothing on Eir's published plans affects this pairing right now.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Eir's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Eir (Ireland)

  • 3G: Being switched off now: phased from 1 October 2026 (Donegal first) to 6 November 2026
  • 2G: On; no Irish operator has announced a 2G switch-off

Mudita Pure

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28; TDD 38–41
  • 4G Calling: experimental – MuditaOS 1.11.0 added VoLTE as an experimental feature for Great Britain (and DK, NL, CA, AT).

The same applies to networks that run on Eir: GoMo, Lyca Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
