Does the Mudita Pure work on Movistar?
Yes.
WorksCalls and texts work over 2G, which Movistar keeps running with no switch-off date announced, and its 4G bands match (shared bands: 3, 7, 20). There's no mobile data on the phone itself (Mudita only allows USB tethering to a computer).
Nothing on Movistar's published plans affects this pairing right now.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Movistar's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
Movistar (Spain)
- 3G: Being switched off: started early 2026, due to finish during 2027
- 2G: On; no firm switch-off date (Spanish operators expect to keep 2G until around 2030)
Mudita Pure
- 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28; TDD 38–41
- 4G Calling: experimental – MuditaOS 1.11.0 added VoLTE as an experimental feature for Great Britain (and DK, NL, CA, AT).
The same applies to networks that run on Movistar: Digi. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
