Works with caveats

Calls and texts can fall back to 2G. Telekom plans to switch 2G off completely by 30 June 2028. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on Telekom. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 8).

Expect it to work, but read the switch-off dates below. That's where the catch is.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Telekom's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Telekom (Germany)

  • 3G: Switched off in 2021
  • 2G: On until 30 June 2028, when Telekom plans to switch it off completely

Nokia 105 4G (2021)

  • 2G: GSM 900 / 1800
  • 3G: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 1, 3, 5, 8 (EU model)
  • 4G Calling: unknown – Not on HMD's VoLTE-verified list (which covers the 2023 model, TA-1551).

The same applies to networks that run on Telekom: congstar. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
