Does the Nokia 225 4G (2020) work on Telekom?
It works, with caveats.
Works with caveatsCalls and texts can fall back to 2G. Telekom plans to switch 2G off completely by 30 June 2028. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on Telekom. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20).
It works today, but calls on the Nokia 225 4G (2020) rely on a part of Telekom's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Telekom's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
Telekom (Germany)
- 3G: Switched off in 2021
- 2G: On until 30 June 2028, when Telekom plans to switch it off completely
Nokia 225 4G (2020)
- 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 38, 40 (EU model)
- 4G Calling: unknown – The 2020 model numbers (TA-1276 to TA-1321) are not on HMD's VoLTE-verified list.
The same applies to networks that run on Telekom: congstar. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
