Does the Nokia 3310 4G work on Movistar?
Yes, for now.
Works with caveatsCalls and texts work over 2G, which Movistar keeps running with no switch-off date announced. Its 4G bands (38, 39, 40, 41 (TD-LTE, Chinese model)) don't match Movistar's, so expect no 4G data.
Expect it to work, but read the switch-off dates below. That's where the catch is.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Movistar's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
Movistar (Spain)
- 3G: Being switched off: started early 2026, due to finish during 2027
- 2G: On; no firm switch-off date (Spanish operators expect to keep 2G until around 2030)
Nokia 3310 4G
- 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: 38, 39, 40, 41 (TD-LTE, Chinese model)
- 4G Calling: unknown – Its 4G bands are Chinese TD-LTE bands, so 4G (and 4G Calling) won't work in the UK or Portugal.
The same applies to networks that run on Movistar: Digi. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
