Does the Nokia 6310 (2024) work on Eir?

Last checked 23 Oct 20265 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Yes, for now.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts work over 2G, but this is a 2G-only phone with no mobile data. No 2G switch-off date has been announced.

It works today, but calls on the Nokia 6310 (2024) rely on a part of Eir's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Eir's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Eir (Ireland)

  • 3G: Being switched off now: phased from 1 October 2026 (Donegal first) to 6 November 2026
  • 2G: On; no Irish operator has announced a 2G switch-off

Nokia 6310 (2024)

  • 2G: GSM 900 / 1800
  • 3G: No 3G
  • 4G bands: None (2G-only phone)
  • 4G Calling: no – 2G-only, so no 4G Calling.

The same applies to networks that run on Eir: GoMo, Lyca Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
