Does the Palm Phone (PVG100) work on SFR?
Yes, for now.
Works with caveatsWith 2G being switched off, calls and texts fall back to 3G, which this phone supports (2100 MHz). SFR plans to switch 3G off at the end of 2028. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on SFR. Its 4G bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)) don't match SFR's, so expect no 4G data.
Expect it to work, but read the switch-off dates below. That's where the catch is.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and SFR's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
SFR (France)
- 3G: On until the end of 2028
- 2G: Switch-off in two phases: 15–30 November 2026 in big cities (incl. the Paris region, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes), then everywhere from 1 to 15 December 2026
Palm Phone (PVG100)
- 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: 850 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)
- 4G Calling: unknown – US bands only, so no 4G in the UK or Portugal.
The same applies to networks that run on SFR: RED by SFR. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
