Does the Palm Phone (PVG100) work on Vodafone?

Last checked 23 Oct 20264 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Yes, for now.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts work over 2G, which Vodafone keeps running with no switch-off date announced. Its 4G bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)) don't match Vodafone's, so expect no 4G data.

Fine for now. The catch is how calls get through: if they ride on 2G or 3G, they stop when Vodafone switches that off.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Vodafone's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Vodafone (Spain)

  • 3G: Switched off in summer 2024
  • 2G: On; no firm switch-off date (Spanish operators expect to keep 2G until around 2030)

Palm Phone (PVG100)

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 850 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)
  • 4G Calling: unknown – US bands only, so no 4G in the UK or Portugal.
