It works, with caveats.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts work over 2G, which WindTre keeps running with no switch-off date announced. Its 4G bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)) don't match WindTre's, so expect no 4G data.

It works today, but calls on the Palm Phone (PVG100) rely on a part of WindTre's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and WindTre's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

WindTre (Italy)

  • 3G: On 900 MHz only (2100 MHz 3G closed from June 2024); a software-block trial was approved in October 2026
  • 2G: On; no switch-off date announced

Palm Phone (PVG100)

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 850 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)
  • 4G Calling: unknown – US bands only, so no 4G in the UK or Portugal.

The same applies to networks that run on WindTre: Very Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
