Does the Punkt MP02 work on Odido?

Last checked 23 Oct 20266 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Mostly, with a catch.

Works with caveats

Odido has no 2G, so calls and texts fall back to 3G, which this phone supports (900 MHz). Odido hasn't set a 3G switch-off date yet and promises at least six months' notice. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on Odido. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20).

It works today, but calls on the Punkt MP02 rely on a part of Odido's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Odido's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Odido (Netherlands)

  • 3G: On for now; no date set, at least six months' notice promised
  • 2G: Switched off already

Punkt MP02

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 19, 20
  • 4G Calling: yes – Punkt says MP02 supports VoLTE; the APHY v1.3.1 update (V03.02.0375) 'improves VoLTE functionality with certain carriers in the UK'. Owners on r/Punkt report mixed results by network.
