Does the Unihertz Jelly Star work on EE?

It works, with caveats.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts can fall back to 2G. EE starts switching 2G off from May 2029. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on EE. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 20, 38).

Fine for now. The catch is how calls get through: if they ride on 2G or 3G, they stop when EE switches that off.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and EE's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

EE (UK)

  • 3G: Switched off (completed 2024)
  • 2G: Staying on for now; EE says it will start switching 2G off from May 2029

Unihertz Jelly Star

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: Not published or not checked yet
  • 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 66; TDD 34, 38–41
  • 4G Calling: unknown – No UK or Portuguese network VoLTE confirmation found.

The same applies to networks that run on EE: BT Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
