Does the Unihertz Jelly Star work on Eir?
Yes, it works.
WorksCalls and texts work over 2G, which Eir keeps running with no switch-off date announced, and 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 20, 28).
You should be able to put a Eir SIM in the Unihertz Jelly Star and make calls, send texts and use data.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Eir's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
Eir (Ireland)
- 3G: Being switched off now: phased from 1 October 2026 (Donegal first) to 6 November 2026
- 2G: On; no Irish operator has announced a 2G switch-off
Unihertz Jelly Star
- 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: Not published or not checked yet
- 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 66; TDD 34, 38–41
- 4G Calling: unknown – No UK or Portuguese network VoLTE confirmation found.
The same applies to networks that run on Eir: GoMo, Lyca Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
