Does the emporia SIMPLICITY-LTE work on Bouygues Telecom?
Mostly, with a catch.
Works with caveatsWith 2G being switched off, calls and texts fall back to 3G, which this phone supports (900 MHz, 2100 MHz). Bouygues Telecom plans to switch 3G off at the end of 2029. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on Bouygues Telecom. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 20).
It works today, but calls on the emporia SIMPLICITY-LTE rely on a part of Bouygues Telecom's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Bouygues Telecom's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
Bouygues Telecom (France)
- 3G: On until the end of 2029
- 2G: Switch-off on 15 November 2026 in Brest, Guipavas, Nancy and Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, then everywhere from 1 to 15 December 2026
emporia SIMPLICITY-LTE
- 2G: GSM 900 / 1800 (emporia manual)
- 3G: 900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20
- 4G Calling: unknown – emporia's manual lists the 4G bands but doesn't mention VoLTE, and we haven't found it on a network's VoLTE list.
The same applies to networks that run on Bouygues Telecom: B&You. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
