Does the Light Phone III work on EE?

Works

Light's own compatibility checker says the Light Phone III will work with EE in the UK (it lists O2, VodafoneThree, EE and BT; checked 23 Oct 2026). Light's spec sheet lists 4G and 5G only, so calls go over 4G Calling.

Nothing on EE's published plans affects this pairing right now.

EE (UK)

  • 3G: Switched off (completed 2024)
  • 2G: Staying on for now; EE says it will start switching 2G off from May 2029

Light Phone III

  • 2G: Not listed on Light's spec sheet
  • 3G: Not published or not checked yet
  • 4G bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 40, 41, 42, 48, 53, 66, 71 + 5G
  • 4G Calling: unknown – Light says the Light III is one worldwide model, but we haven't found a UK or Portuguese network that confirms 4G Calling on it. EE owners on r/LightPhone report 4G service.

The same applies to networks that run on EE: BT Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
