Does the Mudita Pure work on EE?

It works, with caveats.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts can fall back to 2G. EE starts switching 2G off from May 2029. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on EE. Its 4G bands match (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 20, 38). There's no mobile data on the phone itself (Mudita only allows USB tethering to a computer).

Expect it to work, but read the switch-off dates below. That's where the catch is.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and EE's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

EE (UK)

  • 3G: Switched off (completed 2024)
  • 2G: Staying on for now; EE says it will start switching 2G off from May 2029

Mudita Pure

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28; TDD 38–41
  • 4G Calling: experimental – MuditaOS 1.11.0 added VoLTE as an experimental feature for Great Britain (and DK, NL, CA, AT).

The same applies to networks that run on EE: BT Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
