Works with caveats

Calls and texts can fall back to 2G. O2 switches 2G off in the second half of 2028 and asks people to replace 2G-only devices by 1 July 2028. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on O2 (Telefónica). 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3, 8).

Expect it to work, but read the switch-off dates below. That's where the catch is.

  • 3G: Switched off in 2021
  • 2G: On until the second half of 2028 (replace 2G-only devices by 1 July 2028)

  • 2G: GSM 900 / 1800
  • 3G: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: 1, 3, 5, 8 (EU model, no band 20)
  • 4G Calling: yes – Three lists 4G Calling as supported.
