Does the Palm Phone (PVG100) work on KPN?
Yes, for now.
Works with caveatsCalls and texts can fall back to 2G. KPN switches 2G off for good on 1 December 2027. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on KPN. Its 4G bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)) don't match KPN's, so expect no 4G data.
It works today, but calls on the Palm Phone (PVG100) rely on a part of KPN's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and KPN's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
KPN (Netherlands)
- 3G: Switched off (31 March 2022)
- 2G: On until 1 December 2027 (KPN started moving customers who don't need it off 2G in March 2026)
Palm Phone (PVG100)
- 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: 850 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
- 4G bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 66 (US bands)
- 4G Calling: unknown – US bands only, so no 4G in the UK or Portugal.
The same applies to networks that run on KPN: Simyo. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
