Does the TCL Flip 2 (US model) work on EE?

It works, with caveats.

Works with caveats

Calls and texts can fall back to 2G. EE starts switching 2G off from May 2029. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on EE. Its 4G bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 25, 26, 41, 66, 71 (US bands)) don't match EE's, so expect no 4G data.

Expect it to work, but read the switch-off dates below. That's where the catch is.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and EE's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

EE (UK)

  • 3G: Switched off (completed 2024)
  • 2G: Staying on for now; EE says it will start switching 2G off from May 2029

TCL Flip 2 (US model)

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 850 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz
  • 4G bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 25, 26, 41, 66, 71 (US bands)
  • 4G Calling: unknown – Built for US networks.

The same applies to networks that run on EE: BT Mobile. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
