Does the Mudita Pure work on Free Mobile?

Last checked 23 Oct 20267 sourcesWorked out from published specs

Yes, for now.

Works with caveats

With 2G being switched off, calls and texts fall back to 3G, which this phone supports (900 MHz, 2100 MHz). Free hasn't announced a 3G switch-off date. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on Free Mobile. Its 4G bands match (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 28). There's no mobile data on the phone itself (Mudita only allows USB tethering to a computer).

It works today, but calls on the Mudita Pure rely on a part of Free Mobile's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Free Mobile's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

Free Mobile (France)

  • 3G: On; no switch-off date announced
  • 2G: No 2G of its own: uses Orange's 2G, which is off across mainland France since 20 October 2026 ("white zones" until 1–15 December 2026)

Mudita Pure

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28; TDD 38–41
  • 4G Calling: experimental – MuditaOS 1.11.0 added VoLTE as an experimental feature for Great Britain (and DK, NL, CA, AT).
