Does the Mudita Pure work on SFR?

It works, with caveats.

Works with caveats

With 2G being switched off, calls and texts fall back to 3G, which this phone supports (900 MHz, 2100 MHz). SFR plans to switch 3G off at the end of 2028. It supports 4G Calling, but we haven't found confirmation that it's enabled on SFR. Its 4G bands match (shared bands: 1, 3, 7, 20). There's no mobile data on the phone itself (Mudita only allows USB tethering to a computer).

It works today, but calls on the Mudita Pure rely on a part of SFR's network with a switch-off on the way. Check the dates below before you commit for years.

We worked this out from the phone's published bands and SFR's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.

SFR (France)

  • 3G: On until the end of 2028
  • 2G: Switch-off in two phases: 15–30 November 2026 in big cities (incl. the Paris region, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Nantes), then everywhere from 1 to 15 December 2026

Mudita Pure

  • 2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
  • 3G: 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1700/2100 (AWS) MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz
  • 4G bands: FDD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28; TDD 38–41
  • 4G Calling: experimental – MuditaOS 1.11.0 added VoLTE as an experimental feature for Great Britain (and DK, NL, CA, AT).

The same applies to networks that run on SFR: RED by SFR. Smaller networks sometimes handle 4G Calling differently, so check with them too.
