Does the Sonim XP3 work on Free Mobile?
It works, with caveats.
Works with caveatsWith 2G being switched off, calls and texts fall back to 3G, which this phone supports (900 MHz, 2100 MHz). Free hasn't announced a 3G switch-off date. We haven't found confirmation that 4G Calling works on Free Mobile. 4G data should work (shared bands: 1, 3).
Fine for now. The catch is how calls get through: if they ride on 2G or 3G, they stop when Free Mobile switches that off.
We worked this out from the phone's published bands and Free Mobile's own published network facts (see How we check). Nobody has confirmed it for this exact pairing yet.
