Dumbphones that work in Portugal

We check 61 simple phones against 3 networks in Portugal. 38 work on at least one network, and 15 more work with caveats. Every result links to its reason and sources.

The short version

MEO, NOS and Vodafone have switched 3G off but kept 2G for calls, with no switch-off date announced.
"Supports VoLTE" on a spec sheet isn't enough. Each network has to allow that phone.

2G and 3G switch-off dates

Network	3G	2G
MEO	Switched off (completed 31 January 2024)	2G stays on for voice calls nationwide
NOS	Switched off (2024)	2G stays on for voice calls nationwide
Vodafone Portugal	Switched off in phases from July 2024	2G stays on for voice calls nationwide

From each network's own pages and the regulator. Checked 22 Oct 2026.
